Rama

Rama was recently rescued from the Sunauli border station. Her rescue was the lowest point of her life because she realized the man she loved and was ready to marry did not in fact love her as he swore. He lied and was ready to trade Rama’s life for a profit.

Rama was filled with sadness and shame because her family had tried to convince her to stay home. They were concerned about the relationship. It turned out they were right

When Rama first arrived at the Safe Home after her rescue, she used to yell and curse at the staff. She was filled with anger. Still our partner’s staff never stopped pursuing Rama. She finally realized these were people that truly cared about her and wanted to walk alongside her.

She states, “Now, I’m no longer Rama – aggressive, liar, dull. I am Rama - grateful, thankful, and renewed.”
